Avoid using loud alarm clocks

Posted by sulman at 9:46 PM 0 comments

It is very stressful on the body to be awoken suddenly. If you are regularly getting enough sleep, they should be unnecessary. I gave up my alarm clock years ago and now use a sun alarm clock. The Sun Alarm™ SA-2002 provides an ideal way to wake up each morning if you can't wake up with the REAL sun.Combining the features of a traditional alarm clock (digital display, AM/FM radio, beeper, snooze button, etc) with a special built-in light that gradually increases in intensity, this amazing clock simulates a natural sunrise. It also includes a sunset feature where the light fades to darkness over time - ideal for anyone who has trouble falling asleep.

Latest news on Blood types..Strange,But True

Posted by sulman at 11:21 PM 0 comments

Human blood is grouped into four types: A, B, AB, and O.Each blood type is also grouped by its Rhesus factor, or Rh factor. Blood is either Rh positive (Rh+) or Rh negative (Rh-). Type O– blood is considered the “universal donor” because it can be donated to people of any blood type. Type AB+ blood is considered the “universal recipient” because people with this type can receive any blood type.
Really you dont know?
-Blood type is inherited, just like eye color.
-Certain blood types are more common in certain countries. In China, over 99% of the population has Rh+ blood.
-Different kinds of animals have different kinds of blood. Dogs have 4 blood types; cats have 11; cows have about 800.
-Some people think blood type tells about personality. Legend has it that Type A is calm and trustworthy; Type B is creative and excitable; Type AB is thoughtful and emotional; and Type O is a confident leader.
-In Japan, the idea of blood type as personality type is so popular that Japanese ask “What's your blood type?” about as often as Americans ask “What's your sign?”

Fish Oils help in many diseases

Posted by sulman at 4:15 AM 0 comments

More recent research has established that fish oils play an important role in the prevention of atherosclerosis, heart attack, depression, and cancer. Fish oils prevent and may help to ameliorate or reverse atherosclerosis, angina, heart attack, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease.

Fish oils help maintain the elasticity of artery walls, prevent blood clotting, reduce blood pressure, stabilize heart rhythm and help combat inflammation.
There is also considerable evidence that fish oil consumption can reduce the risk of breast and prostate cancer and help slow their progression.Low quality oils should be avoided as they are unstable and may contain significant amounts of mercury, pesticides, and undesirable oxidation products. Blast Injuries,A big Challenge

Posted by sulman at 6:24 AM 0 comments

Health-care providers are increasingly faced with the possibility of needing to care for people injured in explosions, but can often, however, feel undertrained for the unique aspects of the patient's presentation and management.
Although most blast-related injuries (eg, fragmentation injuries from improvised explosive devices and standard military explosives) can be managed in a similar manner to typical penetrating or blunt traumatic injuries, injuries caused by the blast pressure wave itself cannot. The blast pressure wave exerts forces mainly at air—tissue interfaces within the body, and the pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and auditory systems are at greatest risk.

Arterial air emboli arising from severe pulmonary injury can cause ischaemic complications—especially in the brain, heart, and intestinal tract. Attributable, in part, to the scene chaos that undoubtedly exists, poor triage and missed diagnosis of blast injuries are substantial concerns because injuries can be subtle or their presentation can be delayed. Management of these injuries can be a challenge, compounded by potentially conflicting treatment goals.
